Concerning the Scriptures: The Bible is the Word of God and was written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the complete and final revelation of the will of God to man and is the supreme standard by which all behavior, creeds, and opinions should be tried. We use the King James Version of the Bible.
Concerning the true God: There is only one, living and true God that is the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth. The unity of the Godhead are three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and was born of a virgin. Jesus took upon Himself the form of a servant so that He may die for us, but was raised from the dead on the third day. Jesus Christ was taken to Heaven and is seated on the right hand of God, waiting for the appointed time to return to earth in the same manner in which He was taken up (physically, personally, and visibly).
Concerning the fall of man: Man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker; but by voluntary transgression, fell from his sinless and happy state, in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners, not by constraint, but by choice ; and therefore under just condemnation without defense or excuse.
Concerning faith and repentance: Repentance and faith are solemn obligations, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God; thereby, being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger and helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with unfeigned contribution, confessing and supplication for mercy; at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confessing Him as our only and all-sufficient Savior.
Concerning the salvation of man: Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is not obtained through what you do or how you behave. Salvation is instantaneous, not a process, and is offered to everyone. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Concerning the Devil: Satan was once holy, and enjoyed heavenly honors but through pride and ambition to be as the Almighty fell and drew after him a host of angels. Satan is the power of the air and the unholy god of this world. We hold him to be man’s great tempter, the enemy of God and His Christ, the accuser of the saints, the author of all false religions, and the author of all the powers of darkness. Satan is destined to final defeat at the hand of God’s own Son, Jesus Christ, and to the judgment of eternal justice in the Lake of Fire.
Concerning the origin of all things: We believe in the Genesis account of a 6-day creation (God resting on the 7th day), and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively. Man was created directly in God’s own image and after His Own likeness. Man’s creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species, or development through interminable periods of time from lower to higher forms; that all animal and vegetable life was made directly, and God’s established law was that they should bring forth only “after their kind.”
Concerning the church: A Baptist church is a congregation of baptized, born-again believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel. We believe the true mission of the church is found in the Great Commission: first, to make individual disciples; second, to build up the church; third, to teach and instruct as He has commanded.
